🌱 Miniature Orchids for Terrariums & Paludariums 🌱
Limited Release ~ Available while current stocks last
Our selection of miniature and small epiphytic orchids is perfect for terrariums, paludariums, and planted scapes. Epiphytes are "air plants" that grow on top of other plants or objects, using them merely for physical support. These orchids grow above the waterline or soil, preventing them from becoming waterlogged. They are small types, typically reaching 10-15 cm in height, making them ideal for small spaces and as companion plants in carnivorous plant terrariums
These plants come either potted or mounted on small pieces of wood and you will receive the exact plant pictured. They're sent bubble-wrapped, carefully packed and protected to prevent damage during transit
🌱 Sarcochilus Kulnura Firemist x (Fitzhart x Cherie Dawn)

- Light: Medium
- Temperature: 5-32°C
- Humidity: 60%
- Terrarium Setup: Mount on wood or rock 15cm above the waterline or soil
❤️ General Care Instructions for miniature orchids:
- Fertiliser: These orchids are light feeders and require minimal fertilisation. Regular aquatic plant food or foliar feeding methods work well and can be applied during watering
- Growing Mediums: These epiphytes can thrive on various surfaces like driftwood, mopani wood, spiderwood, lava rock or even artificial mediums. A layer of long-fiber sphagnum moss or coir helps retain moisture. You can find plant glue and long-fiber sphagnum moss available in our store
- Light: Some orchids, such as Sarcochilus, Phalaenopsis, and Tolumnia, do well under low natural or artificial light. Dendrobiums and Vandas prefer brighter, indirect light. If using LED lights, position them directly under the lights for optimal growth. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent overheating in terrariums or paludariums
- Watering & Humidity: Epiphytic orchids absorb moisture through their roots from the air. They thrive in a high-humidity environment but still require drenching every few days, allowing time between waterings for the roots to dry out slightly
- Flowering: These miniature orchids are not in spike or in bloom and will flower within 6 to 12 months under the right conditions, including proper light, temperature, humidity and watering
