Rare Highland Species • Special Import from Wistuba – Exotic Plants
Nepenthes inermis is an unforgettable species from the cloud forests of Sumatra, known for its strikingly unique upper pitchers and completely smooth, peristome-free mouth – a trait not found in any other Nepenthes!
This clone (Clone 10) originates from Gunung Gadut, Sumatra and is a true collector’s item. It’s a vigorous grower that climbs early and transitions quickly into producing the famous upper pitchers, which resemble bright green trumpets with extremely thick, viscous fluid inside. These upper pitchers are not only striking in appearance but also uniquely functional – believed to trap prey like a mix between flypaper and a slippery slide!
Although it’s classified as a highland species, this particular clone has been fully acclimatised to intermediate conditions, making it suitable for larger terrariums, paludariums, or covered patios in summer.
