Product Details

Introducing Pinguicula aff. agnata #CC68 – a Cultivo Exclusive and one-of-a-kind butterwort from our own seed-grown breeding program. This plant was hand-selected from our in-house batch for its unusual red pigmentation and strong, fleshy leaf structure — traits not commonly seen in standard agnata forms.

Now nearing flowering size, this butterwort is not only a showstopper for terrariums or semi-shaded patios but also a potential breeding parent for growers looking to develop more colour-rich Mexican butterwort lines. In cooler months, it naturally forms a tight rosette typical of Pinguicula dormancy, giving seasonal variation to its look and growth habit.

You’ll receive the exact plant pictured, carefully grown out and acclimatised at Cultivo. It ships bare-root (without soil) and is ready to pot up into Butterwort PROmix™ or a suitable airy carnivorous plant mix.

🪴 Growing Tips & Care Info

  • 🔆 Bright filtered light or under strong grow lights
  • 🌿 Ideal for terrariums or semi-shaded outdoor spaces
  • 🪴 Use Butterwort PROmix™ or an airy carnivorous plant mix
  • 💧 Keep soil lightly moist – avoid watering into the crown
  • 🍂 Forms a compact winter rosette during cooler months

This seed-grown Pinguicula aff. agnata #CC68 is a once-off collector's release. Fully acclimatised and available only at Cultivo – South Africa’s expert source for rare carnivorous plants.
