Imported directly from Kamil Pasek at Best Carnivorous Plants in the Czech Republic, this is a true collector’s specimen of Pinguicula gigantea — the largest of all Mexican butterworts.
Pinguicula gigantea features a bold, symmetrical rosette of bright green, oval-shaped leaves. It measures approximately 14–18cm across and is fully grown and established. Although not currently in flower, this species produces soft purple blooms once mature — and unlike most Mexican butterworts, it stays leafy all year round. In winter, it simply grows smaller without forming a tight succulent rosette.
This exact plant is one of our original BCP imports (BCP ID# P484 & P527), carefully grown out and fully acclimatised at Cultivo. It ships bareroot with roots wrapped and protected — prepped for easy transplanting and a quick recovery in its new home.

Due to import restrictions, Mexican butterworts remain uncommon in South African collections. This specimen comes from our original imported stock — and speciment plants like this are rarely offered, especially at this size and quality.
